Persons With Disabilities

The West Covina Courthouse has accessible parking spaces in the courthouse parking lot. From the parking lot, there is an accessible path of travel to the entrance of the courthouse. Accessible restrooms are located on the 1st Floor near Department 11. Accessible public telephones are located on the 1st Floor near the entrance. Assistive listening devices are available upon request to courtroom staff. Persons with disabilities requiring accommodation to access court programs, services or activities may contact the facility's ADA Coordinator at (626) 813-3221.

Programs & Services

Criminal Department
Prescheduled court dates will be on the calendar. Please report directly to the courtroom to which you were assigned. Courtroom doors open at 8:30 a.m. This is a tentative calendar. Advances and continuances may not be included. If your name is not listed, check with the Clerk's Office.

To appear in court on a non-calendar case, you must report to the Criminal Department by 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Please bring applicable information pertaining to your case, such as: case number, copy of citation, bail receipt, driver license number and/or proof of compliance of court order.

Traffic Department
Traffic citations may be paid in the Traffic Clerks Office Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Traffic Department is open for night court on the first and third Mondays of each month until 6:00 p.m. (except holidays).

Civil Department
Status conferences are set approximately 165 days from the date of filing, if case is not disposed of or at issue. With proper notice, counsel may set their own hearing date for law and motion matters, Monday through Thursday at 1:30 p.m. In accordance with local rules and delay reduction standards, no case will be placed off calendar and some action will be taken on all calendared cases with a date set for future action.

Small Claims Department
Trial dates are set not less than 15 days nor more than 40 days for defendants that reside within Los Angeles County. Trial dates are set not less than 30 days nor more than 70 days for defendants that reside outside of Los Angeles County. One postponement will be granted for each side if requested not less than 10 days before the trial date, a $10.00 fee will be charged. Parties are required to bring an Interpreter on the court date if one is necessary. A lawyer may not represent either party in court at the small claims trial.
