SECURITY
The Superior Court contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for all court security operations.
The Superior Court has its own Director of Security who oversees all court operations of the Sheriff countywide.
Court security is not only the Sheriff’s primary function. It is also the responsibility of all court
employees to act as “eyes and ears” for the Sheriff. The Superior Court’s Director of Security is available to provide any further information you may need.

The Superior Court also operates a Judicial Services Unit with the Sheriff.
The Unit’s function is to provide security to bench officers, investigate threats
against bench officers, and liaison with other police agencies when necessary. The Judicial Services Unit is available to provide any further information you may need.

Courtroom bailiffs are familiar with the alarm system of each courtroom.
Please ask them to brief you on the alarm system in your particular courtroom.
Any security issues you have should first be addressed with your courtroom bailiff
and/or with the Sheriff’s on-site supervisor.
