The Los Angeles Superior
Court hereby announces its Standard for Electronic Filing from Traffic
Automated Citation Devices (Traffic ACD). The Court will require compliance with this Standard for the
implementation of all new Traffic ACD projects. Future impacts of the Standard on existing Traffic ACD projects
will be discussed with the relevant law enforcement agencies.
The Standard is intended to
promote electronic transmission of traffic citation data and electronic images
to the Court to minimize data entry and paper handling for all concerned while
maximizing accuracy, achieving substantial savings of time and money and
improving management information. The
Standard facilitates planning, coordination, and implementation. It reflects outcomes of the Automated
Citation Device Pilot Program undertaken by the Court and California Highway
Patrol in cooperation with the State of California Office of Traffic Safety,
and incorporates NCIC 2000 Code Manual and California DMV abbreviation
standards. It requires use of the Judicial Council TR-130 Traffic/Non-Traffic Notice to Appear (Rev. 01-01-04)
form.
The Standard consists of a
Traffic ACD Project Requirements Document and attached file layouts and naming
conventions, code tables, document formats, and data transmission
guidelines. To download the Standard documents, click here.
Members of the justice
community should contact the Court when initiating Traffic ACD projects.
Upon receiving proposals for new projects,
and as required, the Court will provide estimates of any Court charges for the
cost of project setup, testing, production issues and exception
processing. The Court looks forward to
working with other justice agencies on projects that promote interagency
collaboration and coordination.
