The “Creating a Parenting Plan” brochure series was developed to provide separated and divorced parents with parenting plan
examples. It also addresses factors parents should consider when creating a parenting plan for their
child/children. These brochures are intended to be used as a reference only and may not apply to all families. There are currently seven brochures which may be viewed and printed from this web site using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
“Creating a Parenting Plan” provides an overview of the five areas (legal custody, time-sharing schedules, holiday/vacation schedules,
transportation arrangements, and any other agreements) addressed in most agreements. It also provides a description of legal and physical custody. Click here to view the "Creating a Parenting Plan" brochure.
Additionally, there are five brochures which cover the developmental stages of children from infancy to
adolescence. Each brochure begins with some developmental information about the age group and some factors that parents might consider when tailoring a plan for their child.
It also provides sample schedules and includes some of the benefits of each example. All the brochures conclude with tips on how to make a parenting plan successful.
These brochures are as follows:
Another brochure addresses Holiday and Vacation Options and provides parents with ideas on how to share these important times. Click here to view Creating a Parenting Plan: Holiday and Vacation Options.
The sample parenting plans listed in the brochures are for your reference only and may not fit all families. The success of any parenting plan is dependant upon a determined effort by both parents to remain flexible, cooperative, and focused on the unique requirements of their own child/children.
