The East Los Angeles Courthouse is on the "One-Trial" jury service term. Under the One-Trial term of service, prospective jurors are placed on call for a period of five (5) days. The prospective juror is required to call in to receive instructions on whether he or she must report for service. Once instructed to report to court, and if selected to serve on a jury, the service obligation is fulfilled upon the conclusion of deliberation, whether or not a verdict is reached. The service obligation is also fulfilled if not in jury selection or selected on a jury at the end of the day when required to report. Please be prepared to accept a trial. The average trial is 5-7 days.

Free juror parking is provided behind the courthouse. Entrance to the parking lot is located on Civic Center Way.

Construction will begin on April 8, 2006 for the extension of the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension which will be serving the residents of East Los Angeles. The streets primarily affected are Third St., Fetterly Ave. and Civic Center Way. Access to the Courthouse parking will require a right turn from Mednik Ave. onto Civic Center Way to the courthouse parking lot. Jurors are to enter the courthouse at the ground-level rear entrance.
