We are pleased to announce that the Los Angeles Superior Court and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) have partnered to provide a Metro Weekly Pass for individuals serving jury duty.
The pass is worth seventeen dollars ($17.00) and is good for unlimited local travel on all Metro Bus and all Rail Lines (including the Orange Line) from Sunday through Saturday. The pass is yours to keep even if you have completed your jury service prior to the expiration date on the pass. Some extended zones (Express, Transitways and Busways) may require an additional fee. Please check the Metro web site for additional information.
We encourage you to explore Downtown’s many cultural areas such as Little Tokyo; Chinatown; or Olvera Street, or travel to a new restaurant. Explore shopping areas during your lunch hour. The 7th Street Market Place is but 5 minutes away by rail. In addition to unlimited travel to jury service throughout the week, you may also use the pass anytime during the week from Sunday to Saturday to travel from San Fernando Valley to Long Beach, Santa Monica to El Monte, and on the Gold Line to Pasadena.
The pass is available to you if you are required to serve more than one day of jury service. Metro is providing the Court with Metro Weekly Passes for distribution to jurors serving at court locations within the downtown Civic Center (Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Stanley Mosk Courthouse and Metropolitan Courthouse), Burbank, Glendale, Alhambra, East Los Angeles, Hollywood, Van Nuys, Pasadena, Norwalk, Long Beach, Compton and Airport Courthouses.
We want you to take advantage of this new and exciting program. You will not only be improving environmental conditions, but you will also be enjoying an easy, reliable and less stressful way of commuting to jury duty.
Please take advantage of this new program!
