Hours Of Operation

All Clerk's Offices are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except court holidays.

The Traffic Clerk's Office is open for Night Court until 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.

The Arbitration/ADR Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

The Law Library is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.

The Probate Attorney's Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Parking

Visitors may park in the parking structure at the corner of Acacia Avenue and Myrrh Street south of the courthouse (400 South Acacia Avenue). There is a $3.00 all-day fee. Parking is free for all jurors.

Food Services

The cafeteria is located on the 2nd Floor, Room 200 and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily. The snack bar is located on the 1st Floor and is open from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. On the first and third Wednesdays of the month, the snack bar is open until 6:00 p.m. during Night Court.

Tuesday & Friday 9:00 a.m. Ex Parte applications are heard daily at 11:30 a.m. Motions in limine are heard at the Final Status Conference. See Local Rule 7.9(h). Unlawful Detainers trials are heard at 10:00 a.m.

Another attorney may stand-in for the attorney of record at the Case Management Conference and other matters, but only if the attorney is prepared to discuss the details of the case. Telephonic appearances are coordinated by Court Call (888) 882-6878. The clerk's number is (310) 603-7711. No cell phones are allowed for Court Call appearances.

Once you arrive at the courthouse, it will probably take 30-45 minutes to get in the building and up to Department "B". Plan accordingly.

Temporary Restraining Orders Clerk's Office, Room 902 Daily 8:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m.
Traffic All Traffic Courtrooms Daily 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. You must check in at the Traffic Clerk's Office by 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to attend these sessions. If you have a prescheduled court appearance, please check the court calendar for your name and then proceed to the courtroom on the 1st Floor.
Traffic Night Court Contact Courthouse 1st & 3rd Wednesday
To attend Night Court, you must be prescheduled. Customers may call (213) 763-1644 to preschedule an appearance date. Customers may also preschedule an appearance date via mail or by visiting the Traffic Clerk's Office.

The Traffic Clerk's Office remains open during Night Court to assist traffic customers with extensions, traffic school, court trials and payment of bail or fines.

Childcare Waiting Room
Childcare is available for customers conducting court business ONLY, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. This service is not extended to jurors. Childcare Waiting Room is located on the 11th Floor, Room 1103.

Community Legal Services
General legal assistance can be obtained by calling Community Legal Services at (310) 638-6194. The Compton Office is located at 725 W. Rosecrans Ave., Compton, CA 90220. Office appointments are required or in some instances legal advice may be provided via the telephone. For assistance over the phone with Family Law and Civil matters call (800) 834-5001.

Compton Legal Self-Help Center
The Self-Help Center for the Compton Courthouse is located on the 11th Floor, Room 1102. Hours of operation are as follows: Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and scheduled afternoon workshops. The Self Help Center provides assistance with Divorce, Paternity, Name Change, Guardianship, Child Visitation, Evictions, Small Claims and Child Custody. Family Law Facilitator
The Family Law Facilitator is located at the Compton Courthouse, Room 1001, 10th Floor. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. & 1:30 to 4:40 p.m. Please call (310) 603-3218 for an appointment regarding Child Support, Spousal Support and Health Insurance. Walk-ins are assisted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:00 a.m.

The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer Affairs Small Claims Court Advisor Program offers additional information and assistance with Small Claims.

Temporary Restraining Orders
An application for a temporary restraining order can be picked up from the Clerk's Office on the 9th Floor, Room 902 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applications are to be filled out in black ink only and must be filed with the Clerk's Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Plaintiff (person filing the complaint) will leave the Temporary Restraining Order application with the clerk. The restraining orders are usually returned from the Clerk's Office between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. You are instructed to return to the Clerk's Office the same day. At that time, the clerk will tell you whether or not your order has been approved by the judge and give further instructions regarding the order.
